LEELANAU BREWING COMPANY LISTED IN MAXIM MAGAZINE'S BEER AWARDS.

Lake Leelanau, Michigan, 2/1/2011  -  Leelanau Brewing Company's Good Harbor Golden Ale has been chosen as one of the 57 best beers in the world according to the February  2011 issue of Maxim Magazine. Leelanau Brewing Company is easily the smallest producer on the Maxim list, with Good Harbor Golden Ale having an estimated production of less than 350 cases per year.

Leelanau Brewing Company was established in 2005 by Charles Psenka and is a small Michigan brand that contract brews around 1000 cases a year from award winning Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales located in Dexter, Michigan.  Leelanau Brewing products are made by internationally renowned brewmaster, Ron Jeffries, using Franco-Belgian brewing techniques. All Leelanau Brewing beers are aged in French oak barrels.  

In 2010, Leelanau Brewing Company's Good Harbor was listed as the 4th best Belgian Golden style ale in the world by the New York Times, while Leelanau Brewing's Whaleback White was listed in GQ magazine as the 11th best beer in the world.  

Leelanau Brewing Company currently makes three styles of beer; Whaleback White Ale, a belgian style white ale, Good Harbor Golden Ale, a belgian golden ale and Petoskey Pale Ale, a wild American ale.
